Grit Necklace -- Batch Two
I have a tenderness in my heart for pearls...the piece of grit transformed into something precious and luminous. The grime that is coated with layers upon layers of nacre until the old ugly irritant isn't even a wisp of a memory, but a transformed nugget of gleaming goodness.
A pearl is not symbolic. IT IS THE THING. It is the literal thing. It is the grit that was made precious and beautiful. It is life despite life itself. It's the difference between surviving and thriving. It is everything we face everyday that is beautiful and brutal.
Life is gonna give you grit. Will you transform it into something precious?
Go forth and make your pearls.
