I invested in a bunch of these hand carved pinecone beads. I just love them to pieces. But I invested not knowing how I would use them and it's been fun inventing ways to incorporate these beads into designs.
I've always said that pine forests are the friendliest forests. The needles and branches allow the sun to filter down to the forest floor where the warm scent of years of duff rises to wrap me in a hug. I love a forest of pine trees. They are my comfort place.
This particular pinecone is carved from rutile quartz so that it seems shot through with sunbeams. It's so beautiful I could cry. I've used my chunky square crosses to anchor this pinecone to a chain and I've tried to echo those same sunbeams within the carved pinecone with a spangling of brass "needles" that rise up the chain. There's no clasp on this piece. Just pull it on over your head and go.
One of a kind!
