Where I live, there are many owls. In the forest of pines and deciduous trees that make the edges of my farm there are resident great horned owls, short-eared owls and barn owls. I witness and interact with them on a regular basis but this specific necklace is a response to an experience I had with a barn owl a few winters ago.
If you'd like to read about that barn owl experience of mine, the post is located on my blog which you can reach with this link:

One barn owl carefully pieced out with layers of 20 gauge sterling silver and mounted on a milled ingot which gives this piece a beautiful weight. I've finished off the design with variscite, coral and square crosses that rise up the chain length before it morphs into a heavy sterling ball chain. ALL sterling silver with bronze accent at the clasp. One of a kind!
Chain length: About 22 inches with a heavy clasp.
