Blue Healer Beadstrand -- Hand Knotted Silk -- Turquoise and Momo Coral
These are the first necklaces I made after I suffered a terrible horse wreck in early August. I was feeling stir crazy, I couldn't use my left arm or my right hand very well and I sat down and decided to just TRY to hand knot tiny beads on silk...I needed to do something when I couldn't do anything.
The first strand took me four days (four afternoon sessions) to make and I was terribly clumsy at first but gained speed and dexterity for all my efforts and soon I began to look forward to a little afternoon beading session everyday, especially since I noticed more mobility returning to my right hand and and left arm the more I tied these tiny knots between these tiny beads.
I named these bead strands the "blue healers" because that's what they did for me when I sat down to work them and make them. Healing comes to us bead by bead, knot by knot, in small steps forward. It did for me.

Faceted American turquoise with Momo coral accent beads on hand knotted silk. These slip on over the head and are so delicate and ethereal on. Beautiful alone, quiet and sweet when paired with other necklaces. Little labors of love.
Length: 28-30 inches long, respectively.
Please note: Try to keep your bead strand dry. When silk gets saturated it can stretch out and change the structure of your necklace. If you do get it wet, simply lay it flat to dry completely before you wear it again.
