This collection of apple blossom designs is inspired by my farm here on the Snake River of Idaho and the way it bursts to life in the spring. We have an orchard here that we lovingly tend to and in it are a few ancient apple trees with wizened trunks and heavy branches. While I love all the trees in my orchard, the apple trees flower out with such humility and grace each spring, I've taken a shine to them. The apple blossom is humble, delicate, beautiful (in a girl-next-door sort of way), capable of withstanding gale force winds and sweet enough to summon the bees.
This set of earrings is magical. I've paired a few of my motifs -- cross, star, butterfly, and jingles -- with apple blossoms and garnets in approximate rhyme. They match...but not quite. These earrings have a glorious movement to them. They're just like my gardens on summer evenings when the last of the sun is coming in sideways, the sphinx moths are hovering in the bee balm (causing far off hurricanes), the first stars are emerging, and the spirit of God is moving over the farm in the form of a warm wind that sets all the flower petals wavering. Mystery. Beauty. Nightfall. Oh my soul.
Length: Almost 4 inches with hand formed and forged French ear wires.
