Named for my grandmother who is the quilting and 4H queen of Saskatchewan. Sewing royalty! I cherish the quilt she made me because I make things slowly with my hands and I know the love and quiet and peace and dedication and squinting and cussing that goes into building something stitch by stitch (or in my case, solder by solder). She taught my mother how to sew and my mother taught me and I'll teach my own daughter when she gets older and I think it's such a beautiful thing the way handcraft connects us to the long line of mothers we came from.
These earrings feature three "quilt squares" in a longer wearing dangle -- almost 3.25 inches in length -- with plenty of movement and the perfect amount of gleam. Pair them with a long skirt, a button up shirt, and your best old boots and then go forth into the world and blaze a trail.
