The Garden Vessel
A shy idea I coaxed into existence in my studio this summer. I've held on to her for a couple months because I wasn't ready to part with her. But now, as fall creeps into the edges of my garden, I can tell it's time to let her go.
This necklace features a really beautiful, shivery mabe pearl set on top of a big hollow form bead I've decorated with flowers. Tricky work on the round but I managed it! I attached chunky bails to the pearl setting so the entire piece resembles an amphora or vase. This piece is kinetic, the hollow form component spins so you can arrange your flowers how you like. I'm so glad I had this design breathed into me. This is one of my favorite things I have made this year.
Chain length: 20 chunky inches with a heavy clasp.
