A little love letter from a mum to her little girl.

The Daughter Necklaces.
I wanted to make sure these necklaces made it into this visual record of my studio work because they are a new design territory for me. These two sold in my last shop update, but I will have three more for you next time I am able to stock my shop shelves, and hopefully more for years to come!
So often my designs are born up out of my own wanting for a meaningful piece of jewelry. The Daughter Necklace is another one of those pieces. I have been wanting to make myself a necklace that I can wear in the name of my daughter, Matilda, and then hand down to her when she is old enough to tend to a treasured piece. I believe mothers handing down treasured jewelry to daughters can be a powerful rite of passage for girls and young women, especially if it's a piece that has been worn by multiple generations of a family. This is the first design I came up with that stemmed from this rite of passage idea, and it turned out so sweetly.

The pendants feature carved emerald flowers. These stones sit atop heavy, chunky, milled silver ingots (a little thicker than 10ga) around the edges of which I have strung mother-of-pearl beads in a curving embrace that is filled with soft edges. The resulting feel of this design is exceptionally tender, and feminine, and heirloom.
So special. A little love letter from a mum to her little girl.

Wear it and then hand it down to your girl so she can wear it and then hand it down to her girl. It’s not just jewelry, it's family and love and memories, and all of that makes it sacred. Wear it well, wear it with grit and grace so that she can follow in your footsteps.
